Prominent dignitaries kick started storming the residence of former Ugandan premier, Rt Hon. Amama Mbabazi as they gear up for the traditional marriage ceremony (Okuhingira) of Mbabazi’s daughter Bridget Birungi who ushers in South Africa’s first son Andile Ramaphosa.
The Kuhingira ceremony took place on 4th August 2018 at Mbabazi’s residence in Kololo and it saw the South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa and both ex and current wives in the country to attend the maiden occasion.
Among the dignitaries that graced Mbabazi’s residence in Kololo included tycoon Sudhir Rupareria, chief justice Bart Mugunda Katureebe, Opposition Federal for Democratic Change’s Hon. Mugisha Muntu, a number of clergy among others and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni also expected not to miss out of the parting.
Bridget Birungi is a daughter to the late Shadrack Rwakairu who was killed during war in 1980s and was raised by Amama Mbabazi who happens to be her niece.
