All 1,126 samples test negative for coronavirus

For the fourth day running, Uganda has registered no new positive coronavirus case. Confirmed cases still remain at 55 with 0 deaths and 22 recoveries. On Saturday, 1,126 samples tested negative.

Of these 837 samples were from truck drivers and 289 samples from individuals under institutional quarantine and their contacts. To date, a total of 9,975 cumulative tests have been carried out in the country. 

Kenya's cases increased to 262 after 16 new cases and one new death were registered on Saturday. Rwanda registered one new case while Ethiopia's cases increased by 9. Four more people died in Sudan and 33 new cases.

Global deaths increased to 160,542 and 2,329,030 infections with more than 595,866 recoveries. On Saturday, there were 6,397 news deaths worldwide and 80,167 new cases.

The USA registered 1,820 deaths, UK 888 deaths, Spain 637 deaths, France 642 deaths. Egypt registered 19 new deaths, South Africa 2 deaths while deaths in Algeria and Morocco eased to 3 and 2 respectively. 

Sao Tome and Principe (4 cases), South Sudan (4 cases), Burundi (5 cases), western Sahara (6 cases), Mauritania (7 cases), Gambia (9 cases), Seychelles (11 cases), Central Africa Republic (12 cases), Botswana (15 cases), Namibia (16 cases), Libya (49 cases) all registered no new cases. 

On the other hand, Cameroon registered the continent's most fatalities at 20 on Saturday. The West African country also registered 21 new cases to raise its tally to 1,017.

Tunisia on Saturday registered two new cases while Ghana's cases increased by 193 to 834 with one new death. Ivory Coast registered 2 new deaths and 113 new cases. Niger's cases increased by 12 new cases, Burkina Faso by 8 new cases, Nigeria by 49 new cases.
