5 more truck driver test positive for coronavirus

Uganda's coronavirus cases increased by 5 new cases to 121. The new cases are all cargo truck drivers - 2 Ugandans and 3 Kenyans who arrived from Elegu and Malaba border points respectively.

All the 341 community samples tested negative according to an update from the ministry of Health. Meanwhile, Kenya registered 23 new cases and 2 new deaths on Sunday. Their confirmed cases now stand at 672 while the number of dead stands at 32.

Tanzania's cases have risen to 509 after the 29 new cases were reported after more than a week. Rwanda reported 4 new cases to rise its national tally to 284 cases.

Somalia registered 57 new cases and 3 new deaths while DR Congo had 54 new cases and 2 new deaths. There were 48 new deaths in Africa on Sunday and 2,301 new infections. In comparison, there were 71 new deaths and 2,935 new infections on Saturday.

South Africa registered 595 new cases and 8 deaths on Sunday. 436 new cases and 11 new deaths in Egypt. Morocco recorded 153 new infections and 2 new deaths.

In Algeria, there were 165 new infections and 8 new deaths. Cameroon recorded 305 new infections and 6 new deaths. In Guinea there 104 new cases, Senegal recorded 2 new deaths and 75 new cases.

In Ivory Coast, there were 33 new cases, 21 new cases in Djibouti. Mali had 12 new cases and one new death. Guinea Bissau had 85 new cases while Benin had 35 new cases.
