A fifteen-year-old boy has been remanded to Naguru remand home over allegedly participating in city protests that erupted following the arrest of National Unity Platform presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu last week.
Fisal Ddamba, a resident of Nansana Masitowa in Wakiso district, appeared before chief magistrate Alyoziou Natwijuka in Wakiso court this morning.
Natwijuka read out the charges to the accused before remanding him to Naguru remand home. Ddamba denied the charges. The state prosecutor informed court that investigations into the matter were still ongoing and asked for more time to allow police to complete the investigations.
The prosecution alleges that the accused on November 18th and 19th during the protest over the arrest of Kyagulanyi, Ddamba with others still on the run destroyed people's property and incited violence against the people.
Natwijuka asked the accused if he had any surety so that he's granted bail but Ddamba said he had no person to bail him out and the magistrate remanded him until November 30 when he will be brought back to court.
