
Masindi resident judge, Paul Gandenya is set to be airlifted from Masindi to Kampala after getting involved in a motor accident. The accident occurred today Monday about three kilometres to Masindi town along the Masindi-Kampala highway. The judge was on his way to work from Kampala.
He was being driven in his official car registration number UG0781 J when it had a head-on collision with Fuso truck, registration number UBH 831A .
Judiciary public relations officer, Jameson Karemani says he has been briefed that Gadenya has had his legs and arms broken whereas his bodyguard corporal Oscar Opok and driver, whom he was travelling with, also got minor injuries, and are the ones who took him to a nearby clinic.
Karemani who also doubles as the acting registrar for High court, civil division says currently, the former chief registrar is admitted at Kitala medical centre in Masindi.
He has also confirmed that the Judiciary administration is trying to liaise with the permanent secretary Pius Bigirimana to get for Gadenya an aircraft to evacuate him to Kampala so as to save his life due to the grave injuries he has sustained.

"It appears he'd loosened his seat belt, and unfortunately when he had the accident, it had a very big impact and it is feared that he could have broken legs and arms," said Karemani.
Masindi, Kiryadongo, Kibaale, Hoima and Bullisa districts all fall under Gandenya's jurisdiction. Police is yet to ascertain the cause of the accident.
Gandenya, who joined the Judiciary in 1995 has been instrumental in the restructuring of the Judiciary, designing a case backlog reduction strategy, reforming and rationalizing the inspectorate of courts especially during his reign as the chief magistrate. He previously served as the technical advisor to the Justice Law and Order Sector and has since served the Judiciary in a number of capacities.
